    Setup Example

    For Future Convenience

It is a good idea to pin the NCC Secure Transcribe app to the Start menu or the taskbar so you can just click it and start your future projects easily without having to hunt for the app. YOU DO NOT NEED TO REINSTALL THE APP FOR EACH NEW PROJECT.

Taking a Break, Enabling Internet Again

If you want to take a break while transcribing DO NOT ENABLE THE INTERNET MANUALLY. Instead, follow the normal process as if you were finished with your project. Zip the file, re-enable the internet, and when you return to your project, simply unzip your-file_FINAL.zip that was created when you began your break. You can find an example of this process in the video below.

NOTE: In the video you might notice the folders in the second unzipped file (after the break) are nested very deeply, including a User folder, etc. You can feel free to move the files to the top directory, so long as they are all in the same place when you zip the final product.

    Troubleshooting

    Internet is not disabled

If you are still connected to the internet after the first step, answer the following questions:

Expected behavior: The internet should be disabled after the first step of the process

Common Issues: Internet is not disabled due to the user being connected to the internet other than Ethernet or WiFi. If this occurs, please contact NCC and tell them what you see in Network Settings about how you are connecting to the internet.

    Questions to Ask:

    Empty folder after unzip

If you have an empty folder after unzipping your file, answer the following questions:

Expected behavior: After selecting the zip file you downloaded from NCC's FTP server and entering the password, you should be prompted for admin permission multiple times. Once to create the new directories to unzip the file into, again to use PKWARE to unzip the files, and possibly a third time if the directory path needs to be created again at the time of unzip by PKWARE.

Common Issues: You are prompted for permissions. After doing so, you see a new folder was with the correct name, but it's empty.

    Questions to Ask:

When I zip my file, nothing happens

Expected behavior: A new zip file with your-file_FINAL.zip is created after selecting a folder and entering your password for the final product.

Common Issues: You are prompted for permissions to create the file, but after you do, no final zip file is created.

    Questions to Ask:

    Internet Still Disabled

Expected behavior: The internet should be turned back on after you quit the application

Common Issues: The internet does not turn back on after you quit the app.

Watch the video below and see how I re-enable the internet on Windows 10 If you continue to have a problem, please contact NCC.
